This is regarding the family law department. They are arrogant and impossible to contact. It takes too many calls and emails to get a response. It takes even longer to get results. The only speedy action is the production of the bill - which of course includes all the times you wasted their secretary's time trying to contact them! Go anywhere else. They are an exercise in frustration. |

I have on today's date 9/10/2006 faxed my fourth Affidavit to McCann FitzGerald Solicitors, CC to Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice Equality and Law Reform whose close friend told me a few days ago that he is well aware of the criminality of the Legal Profession, that his back was to the wall, that he is up against a terrible mob and is doing the best he can. The committee members have made contact with VLPS headquarters and all will attend the Hearing in the High Court before Judge Michael Hanna on the 5th of October 2006. The documented evidence exhibited exposes a very damning picture of the conduct of John Casey & Co., Shaun Elder and Andrew Darcy, Joe Griffin, and above all those who work in Government Offices and the Court Services, NAMELY, Solicitors Bill Holohan and Thomas Tynan, Barrister Tom Kinirons, Taxing Master James Flynn and Brendan Minnock, all involved in a ring of corruption and false accounting to cover up for their criminal colleagues, also named in my Affidavit. McCann FitzGerald Solicitors: This is my fourth day in Court on Malicious False trumped up charges in an effort to break up our association and union. Articles 40.ii and iii of the Constitution and my rights under the European Charter of Human Rights, My Rights under Article 1.3.1 and 2 and 43. 1.1 and 2 have long since been denied me by your Union in Blackhall Place (The Law Society of Ireland). Those rights were denied me and many of our members by Perjury, Fraud and Deception willfully and maliciously to rob us of our money and livelihood. I have received at 4.10pm on the 22/11/2006 from McCann Fitzgerald Solicitors large brown envelopes for the Committee of the Victims of the Legal Profession, who were brought on a wild goose chase to the Four Courts in Dublin on Thursday the 5th of October 2006 and were ignored by the Court. Not one of the members have computers but all of them were destroyed by the Legal Profession. Some suffer from stress and health problems but they are very anxious to tell their own stories and name the offenders. |

I used this firm as it was recommended as the 'best in Dublin' for Family Law, my case took 2 years to get to court, the resolution was less than satisfactory, the costs extremely high, they left my terms of settlement unfinished which has exposed me to further costs and court hearings. I loved working there and loved the people I worked with - left because of logistics - a very good firm to work for and I NEVER saw anything or had to do anything untoward. In my opinion this pretentious firm is both outrageously expensive and largely incompetent. I had them create a company recently which landed me a 4 figure bill (note: we later found it costs them only E50 to submit the application to CRO and that there are many online firms who are much cheaper). I then made the mistake of asking them a relatively simple question which resulted in another 4 figure bill for a brief letter containing information I already knew. Don't assume that just because you pay an extortionate bill means that you won't have problems - I am quite sure that a smaller firm would have done a much better job with more attention to detail, fewer mistakes and better customer service. In summary, if this mob wants another cent from me they're going to have to pry it from my cold, dead hands. I'd go after them with a claim of negligence were it not for the fear of landing myself yet another outrageous bill from them. I am not at all surprised they are in the 'AVOID' category and just wished I was referred to this site *before* I had problems! |

According to the Solicitors (Amendment) Act 1994 you should have received an estimate of cost letter prior to commencement of work and an itemised bill of costs at conclusion of work. A solicitor who does not issue this information to their client is a chancer and is breaking the law. Therefore, you do have grounds to report this solicitor to the Law Society's Complaints Department and be instrumental in rubber stamping Professional Misconduct on his name. It's the only way we can collectively clean up this filthy legal system. P.S. Don't be a pushover for the Law Society. |

Here is what I said about one of the Corporate Partners at this shop, Mr. Paul Heffernan: It is with some regret that it has come to this in terms of my company's relationship with Paul but it has. It's not pleasant to have to visit this site and write this comment. My company, a large Irish corporate in the retail sector, retained the services of McCanns for an MBO. We met with Paul on a number of occasions. I've never met a specimen like him. Rude and obnoxious with a strong view as to his own importance. His treatment of the women in the room, including his colleague, a female partner, beggared all belief. I don't know how he gets away with it. Paul, shape up, both literally and in your professional life. Clients like us won't be around forever. The upshot of all this is that my company now retains another top five law firm for its legal services. |

I have worked in a lot of solicitors offices and I found MF to be 100% in every respect. Hard working solicitors and all nice people. Whilst I worked for a team headed by Roddy Bourke in 1999 I could not speak more highly of him. I left to return home. Complaining about expenses involved noted above. You will have gotten your estimate for works and it's then you question things. For a huge company I loved it and the people were smashing. |

No empathy or understanding for what its like on the other side of the silver spoon. Have these people ever suffered hardship? Stay away unless you are mega rich. |
