Total rip off merchant. Hails from a little town in Mayo and his mind reflects same. By the way, 'same' is his favorite word... Dodgy, very dodgy. Please, be very afraid of this guy. |

Paul Cooney |
This guy conveys property alright but the fees are astronomical and he'd cut your nose off for a penny. Advice: Cheque every inch of your invoice (although he takes cash) and never lodge money with him as his client account funds his property deals. He runs a property development company selling apartments in Spain/Portugal. Buys a block of 20 for 1 million and sells each unit for 250,000 (plus VAT and outlay). Oh he's a gangster!!! |

Mr Lynn is nothing short of a schoolyard bully, if you fall foul of him you can expect to regret it, he is the most deceitful and manipulative solicitor I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. I withdrew the conveyance of my property from him and he dragged his feet in the most appalling manner with a net result that the buyer of my property withdrew from the sale. As for his fingers in many pies, it would not hurt the Law Society to ensure that there is no conflict of interest arising from his property dealings. It's amazing the horror stories I have heard but yet a solicitor like him is allowed to practice freely and without being accountable for his actions, it's a disgrace. |

His property dealings are a disgrace. Tried to buy out an 87 year old lady in Corduff from her bungalow, having already bought the adjoining four and then got planning permission for 91 apartments. Sold the site (now derelict) and walked away at a huge profit. Completely devalued the old lady's home and quality of life. Immoral. |

Unfortunately, he is not a man of his word. Giving his life to Christ is the only way he will ever change. Pray for him. |

Absolute disgrace, never replies to correspondence or returns phone calls. Law Society, where are you? |

Another Solicitor |
I agree with above. Law Society should investigate. Michael Lynn should not be in practice. Never ever replies to letters or calls. Delays transactions for weeks on end with no apology. Feel sorry for those who work for him. Very bad career move having this firm on your CV! |

Yet Another Solicitor |
Absolute disgrace. Has moved to Capel Street now. Delay, Delay, Delay. I can't believe the stuff this guy is trying to get away with. Law Society: You need to do something. |

Jim |
Interesting to see that this guy is now on the run. Perhaps the Law Society should have read some of the above posts, as it was very clear the sort of gent he was. Just shows the benefit of a good site like this. Well done. |

|
Not a coward |
I suspect the guy got a little burnt out. Who knows what else is going on in his life. He looks terrible in his photos and he's only 39. He will dig himself out of this with time I have no doubt and learn that money is a hobby not a way of life, and that service to others for their sake is ultimately what will make him happy and secure. |

|
sassy |
Well today he became a cropper. The Law Society caught up with him and his practise has been closed. This is surely a sign of the value of this forum where the contributors keep to the facts. All we now need is a forum for judges. ADMIN'S NOTE: There are a number of judges rated on this site. |

 |
Solicitor |
Judge Peter Kelly, you must refer to the Garda Fraud Squad. Please set an example for all solicitors that they are not above the law. Ken Murphy please note and resign. President Judge, lift his practice certificate and bankrupt the Law Society. |

Senior Counsel |
You all should know that the guy acting for this crook is an even bigger crook himself. The one and only Giles (scumbag) Kennedy. He is protecting his own ass looking after Lynn as he is 100% involved with him. The Law Society should close him down too. They did try before. |

To yet another solicitor |
Cop on "yet another solicitor", bring Lynn before a Jury. This man should be behind bars, not before Judge Johnson behind closed doors to be freed through the back door to be allowed to practice under the supervision of another crook. |

John Gill |
This gangster's case is about to be held behind closed doors, to the delight I have no doubt of his Union in Blackhall Place, Dublin 7, and also Mr Ken Murphy who only one year ago tried to slur me, John Gill when he thought I was on my way to an in camera Court hearing to be sentenced a four month term in prison to silence me and to cover up for legal crooks such as Solicitors John Casey & Co, Ennis, Co Clare, S.T. O'Sullivan, Ennis Co Clare, Solicitor Shaun Elder and his corrupt partner Andrew Darcy, Solicitor Bill Holohan & Thomas Tynan, Barrister Tom Kinirons, Taxing Master James Flynn & Brendan Minnock, Allan Lewis, Legal Advisor to Bank of Ireland, 125 O'Connell St, Limerick City, Solicitor Edd O'Mahony legal advisor to Bank of Ireland, 94 O'Connell St, Limerick City and Registrars Brid O'Dea, Susan Dermody and Patrick Wallace of Ennis, Co Clare to name but a few mobsters & gangsters who have destroyed my livelihood, stolen from me £250,000, denied me the right to sell my property together with trying every criminal act in the criminal code to steal my property. Follow my story of FACT, this is only the beginning of the end for the Irish Legal Gangsters who have successfully maintained MASS CORRUPTION by Fear, Intimidation and Threat since the foundation of this corrupt State and beyond. Read about the Irish Press shares fiasco by a so-called founder of Fianna Fail. |

Disgusted and appalled |
I would just like to say that I knew that 87 year old woman that he bullied and terrorised by letting the properties adjoining hers to become a haven for junkies and squatters who kept her in fear right up to the day she passed away. I hope he rots in hell for what he did to her peace of mind. The man is an utter disgrace! |

|
What he did to that old lady really sums this creep up. He should be tossed into the Joy with the heroin addicts. I hope he doesn't top himself because that would be too easy. Unfortunately it looks like he will get away. If he has fled the jurisdiction he will not be able to be extradited for contempt. |

Well done Michael. You have brought embarrassment on the pompous old boys club which is the Law Society. I honestly believe there isn't one decent solicitor in this country, pure scum with grand accents. |

John Gill |
I am sorry Conor, I had 51 Solicitors, Barristers and Council plus 20 Judges of the Circuit Court, High Court and Supreme Court helping and otherwise with the THEFT of my E250,000 cash and the THEFT of my development property, all of which gave birth to CrookedLawyers.com and our wonderful world clustermap (my friends worldwide who are in regular contact) and I can say with certainty that at least four judges, one solicitor and one barrister were honest and were acting within the Law and the Constitution and if you want the proof and documented evidence of the black sheep and the not so white sheep, I shall let you have same on request and without prejudice to their CRIMINAL ACTIVITY and to that of their CORRUPT colleagues. |

Senior Counsel like all senior counsel got it wrong here. If the rogue Lynn picks a solicitor to keep him out of jail I opt for Lynn's choice of Giles Kennedy. Lynn the master stroker knows a good one hence he is still enjoying freedom and the banks' money. |

Bertie must go. This corrupt slippy individual should not be there in the first place. Step down Bertie, you are an embarrassment to yourself and to Ireland. A caller from the English Midlands asked what did we expect from the Irish legal system when we had a corrupt Government. |

Michael Lynn is the scum of the earth, he hurt so many people and I honestly don't know how he sleeps at night. God help anyone that is looking for any paperwork from that office as it is a mess. I worked nights and weekends trying to file everything and most of the paperwork was missing. All that for the locks to be changed and you're out of a job, no wages no nothing, and trying to get a P45 was hell. Then to be told there is nothing that we can do at all. As for his business partner, give her a break, the poor woman was the one that stood up to him and now they are trying to get millions out of her. What kind of country is this if you do something right, you get punished and Lynn goes running and is getting away with it. I hope Lynn rots in hell for all the people he has hurt. I thought it was funny that I had to lodge the cheques into his personal account and then he said he would transfer the money over, but I didn't question it. I'm still trying to get my finances back on track a year later, because of him I have bad credit from not getting paid and being out of work. God help if I need a mortgage. |

Every time I visit Crossmolina, Lahardane and the Castlebar area I try my damndest to ask the people to have courage and let me have their story in writing, but no use. The fear instilled into the people by those scum is more than I can believe, but slowly and surely we are getting to the gangsters and it will not be too long until someone will spit in their eye and the sooner the better. |

I have just returned from Keenagh, Crossmolina and if what I heard about Lynn's great grandfather is true, then there is one hell of a story and research to be carried out. The people who I have spoken to may not talk to you and if you are interested in that story and the names of many others (small investers) who have been fiddled out of quite a lot of money according to themselves, make contact with the VLPS. |

I am appalled that he and his partner are not in jail. She, Fiona, is as bad as him, she has lied and said she is not a partner but she is. The Law Society knows that and she still practices. She "helped" me to buy my property in Portugal but I still have nothing. I think she is in on it too. What is going on, I need help?! |

Lynn loser |
Lynn has robbed, lied cheated myself and 100s of other ordinary people of their hard earned money, savings etc and he doesnt care.He only cares about himself even though he still says he wants "to look after his investors" and likes to blame the banks and their greed for his fraud and theft. Also his wife Brid seems to be getting a free ride as well and playing the inocent wife "I never knew anything" "I dont know where he is " who are you fooling Brid you are just as bad as your theif husband.Brid can be found sitting by her nice pool in their villa between Cabanas and Tavria relaxing and enjoying the fruits of their FRAUD AND THEFT,this makes me sick. When i called to the door she ran like a coward and i just wanted to ask for my money back. How do these people live with themselves, but as the saying goes "its a long road etc".Also there seems to be this complete failure by the media to show Mr and Mrs lynn up for what they really are and how they have robbed ordinary people of their money and not just our greedy banks(Primetime RTE ??) especially Brid Lynn (Lazy Reporting). Her current stance (lie) i believe is that she hasnt seen Michael but funny enough just go to their Villa in Perogil near Tavira and you will find both of them enjoying the rays on our money. Also to John ? (i cant think of his surname)who writes for the Sunday Independent property supplement as well other matters that he feels he is an expert on, you have been fooled like the rest of us,your most recent article spoke about Mrs Brid Lynn ,who at the time recieved approx 400 K + ,how we should feel for this innocent women who knew nothing and fall down in pity for this person.Another reporter from the same paper Martina Devlin Writes about Brid "the innocent".Well John ? if memory serves me right initially you wrote article after article on Mr Lynn and how fantastic this man is and how wonderfull his projects in Bulgaria,Budapest, and Cabanas are and i quote if we couldnt "trust" this man who could we trust. Why do we not hear anything from John ? now in relation to his constant promation of Mr Lynn.As far as i am aware his only article since Mr Lynn has been outed is the "God help innocent Brid article".I wonder John ? and others did Mr Lynn share some of his success with you and others like you ??.I know i sound very bitter but i have worked very hard for what i saved for my childrens future and he has taken it from their innocent hands. |

Hungarian police arrest Mr Lynn on a European arrest warrant, contact the guards and the guards tell them to let him go. What the hell is going on in this country, nearly every day there is something in our papers about corrupt solicitors, yet never any of them do a day in jail. Irish people have to be the stupidest people in the so called developed world and the laughing stock of Europe. I should have studied harder at school, if somebody had told me that becoming a solicitor leaves you with immunity from the law, it could have been tempting. I suppose Thomas Byrne is pretty much safe like Lynn. |

I too am an invester and handed over my money to Mr Thief Lynn. I fell for the fact that this man was a professional solicitor. I had the stupidity to believe I could trust a solicitor, that the banks in this country and the Law Society would not let anyone other than upstanding professionals be associated with them. I invested to make a better future for my children - now they may lose the roof over their heads - why? Because I speculated and it went wrong - no, because I believed I could trust an Irish legal system and failing that, I believed I could trust the Irish government. Both have let me down. The government want my vote but won't answer my letters regarding my predicament. So Michael, if you ever read this, and I'm sure you love to read about yourself, I hope you realise that you are nothing more than a common thief, a disgrace to your mother and nothing more than scum, and one day this will all come back on you. What goes around comes around Michael so you had better be prepared for what is coming. |

The Law Society compensation department don't pay any individual person monies from this fund, never have and never
will. This fund is there in name only, they make up excuses why they don't have to pay compensation. Who are you going to go for advice to, a solicitor? And what do you think his advice will be about his governing body? |

Hi all who has been duped by michael lynn. Find a way to get together and stick together. As a group someone may listen. As inidviduals it will be very difficult. I believe the Government has a responsibilty to us. where was the financial regulator allowing the banks to lend so much money to Michael lynn and others. What has happened to the banks now..... they have NAMA. We, as tax payers will be funding NAMA. Predictions are that in 10 years they will be in profit to the tune of 5.5 billion. Will we see any of that money... I don't think so. We need to act together and stand together against this government. Morally they too owe us. He was allowed to leave this country, the question is .... WHY? We are all symptoms of a cause and we need to get to the root of the cause! |

Solicitor with Lynn firm seeks indemnity
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2009/1111/1224258552243.html date accessed Sunday 14th February 2010.
MARY CAROLAN The Irish Times - Wednesday, November 11, 2009
A SOLICITOR in fugitive lawyer Michael Lynn’s firm was the “whistleblower” on his activities but now finds herself facing accusations by Mr Lynn’s insurers in its efforts to avoid any liability for claims arising from her employment, the Commercial Court was told yesterday.
Fiona McAleenan, who began working with Michael Lynn Company in late November 2004, was herself “a victim” of Mr Lynn and is entitled to be indemnified by his insurers against any claims arising from undertakings she signed while with the firm, her counsel Frank Callanan SC said.
There was “no dishonesty or intention to mislead” in anything Ms McAleenan did while working in the firm, he added. It was she who had raised issues in September 2007 about apparently conflicting material relating to borrowings of some €7 million by Mr Lynn and the registration of charges on properties.
Ms McAleenan had asked for a printout of all accounts of Mr Lynn from September 2006, counsel said. When she saw there was no lodgement for that €7 million sum in the accounts, she became very concerned and steps were later put in train for the Law Society to be contacted.
At about this time, Mr Lynn tried to contact Ms McAleenan by phone but she would not respond and she had resigned from the firm on September 11th, 2007.
Counsel also argued Ms McAleenan was not a partner in the firm. While she had expected in time to become a partner, no agreement was reached in that regard because Mr Lynn was offering her a 10 per cent share and she sought 30 per cent.
She also denied she had held herself out as a partner. Mr Callanan said his client had signed various undertakings related to certain properties in good faith but there were also other undertakings to which her name was appended without her authorisation.
He was opening proceedings by Ms McAleenan, a mother of seven of Betaghstown, Co Meath, against AIG Insurance Company Ltd claiming entitlement to an indemnity against any claims against her arising from her employment with Mr Lynn.
The case is before Ms Justice Mary Finlay Geoghegan and is listed for four days.
AIG, which provided insurance cover for Michael Lynn Company and a related company, Overseas Property Law, want to have the policies declared fully void on grounds of alleged fraudulent misrepresentation and non-disclosure.
More than 250 claims have been made against the policies by banks and others owed large sums by Mr Lynn, who has estimated liabilities of some €80 million.
It is claimed AIG provided the first layer of cover of up to €2.5 million for each claim, subject to €7,500 excess and excess indemnity insurance was provided by Chubb Insurance Company Europe SA and WR Berkley Insurance (Europe) Ltd.
In December 2007, AIG refused cover on the grounds of alleged material non-disclosure by the Lynn firms at the time the policies were taken out.
Chubb and WR Berkley also brought proceedings alleging the policies are void.
Mr Justice Peter Kelly has previously said AIG was entitled, in default of appearance by Mr Lynn in the case, to void policies but any order was stayed pending the outcome of Ms McAleenan’s claim for indemnity.
AIG rejects Ms McAleenan’s claim for an indemnity on various grounds, including its claim Ms McAleenan was a partner of the firm.
It claims Ms McAleenan had held herself out as a partner to it and to the Law Society and had signed a proposal form as a partner.
AIG also alleges Ms McAleenan allegedly failed to disclose she was engaged in a practice of giving multiple undertakings on multiple properties to multiple institutions.
Brian Cregan SC, for AIG, said Ms McAleenan should have known Mr Lynn was engaged in a practice of giving multiple undertakings on multiple properties to multiple institutions and should have disclosed that to the insurers.
Earlier, proceedings by Chubb and Berkley were settled against Ms McAleenan on terms including the making of declarations that the companies are entitled to avoid payment out of any claims made under two specific policies taken out by Mr Lynn and his property company.

Believe it or not I bumped into him by complete acccident in Tavira in the Algarve last week, I dont know him and he doesnt know me but i recognised him, he was with his wife and another lady, 3 of them hunched over a laptop, when he heard my accent he looked over, there was no one else in the restaurant only them and me and my wife, he definitely looked a little cagey when he heard my accent. I had no dealings with him so i only know what ive read about him |

You know sean you are right, there are bigger fish to fry ..... along with Michael Lynn. I do not blame Michael for trying to be a success, that is all we investors wanted to do either. What I do mind is being robbed. I live a decent law abiding life. my house, car and other things are kept in order and well insured. However, there is no insurance to cover my being robbed by a Solicitor.... Perhaps you would like to compensate me ..... |

There's no use in crying over spilt milk!
You are going nowhere; there is nothing to get from this clown.
Get over it; or lose your real wealth, your health,as well.
Solicitors are to be avoided en bloc, if at all possible.
If not, approach them as potential criminals and do not trust word of mouth.
Seems you, or most of you, were naive, foolish and too concerned with making money to see the wood for the trees.
At least you have nothing left to be swindled out of!

getting our money back |
Robbed my money and also from a couple of colleagues. Seeing that the judicial system here and the Lynn Society don't want to sort him out (no surprise here) we are sorting it out ourselves. A colleague visited Tavira (Kendar, Cabanas), found Lynn hanging out there with his bodygaurd (only 1)...shouldn't be too much trouble, have a 'debt collector' going his way to collect our money. I'll let you know how we get on. PS the heads up won’t do you any good Michael. As Sean says, be thankful for your health..for now... |

To SEAN QUIGNEY from CAROLINE TAYLOR |
Hey Sean, I hope you never get burgled, mugged or your car stolen (if you even own one). For if you do, would it be your own fault for having a house, a wallet or a car. Boom years or bust years, people make investments every day, in their homes, possessions (however big or small), in their ambition to move on and improve themselves, for themselves and/or for their children. If people didn't try things, then what is the point of getting out of bed every day. Ambition and drive is what motivates most people. Perhaps you are not an ambitious person with any drive and so you feel you can preach to those who try to improve their/their childrens lives. I think you are a very silly man with little intelligence. I bet you would actually pursue someone for 40 or 50 euro let alone 40 or 50 thousand euro. How dare you tell me and all the other investors to grow up. How do you know we are not thankful for our health. Would you just let someone take your life savings from you and say, "ah sher thats grand, some chap just took my money, but sher, isn't it ok, I have my health". I feel it is you who should grow up here Sean.... don't you. Oh and by the way it is 'Seeing' not 'seen' (the banks get caught) in your last note to this page ha! |

apparently Lynn and his wife Brid are living quite well in a villa overlooking the town of Tavira spending the money thieved from gullible fools like me and many others.
there are a few post here saying they are going over their looking for him but i dont see any follow up stories, i am willing to travel at this moment, i have no other option it seems but have others been face to face yet?
are the bodyguard stories real? |
